Greetings. I am so sorry I have not responded to your email but I was sick for a while.

I was happy to get your email because you are related apparently to my great-great grandfather, Samuel Tanner. I have been collecting information mostly via the Internet in the last several months, therefore I do not have a lot of primary source material. My Uncle Donald Keyser (now deceased) has put the Keyser genealogy together (albeit in somewhat rough form). He was never able to carry the Tanner line beyond his great grandfather, Samuel Tanner.

The info I have comes from Family Tree Maker homepages and some information from NYGenWEB under Schoharie County, NY under the topic "Queries" (under the Tanner name).

I did find under Ancestry.com's webpage,a database named "New York Marriages 1600-1784". In this database it states that a John Tanner was married to Anne Schenck on 17 March 1773. I have had previously an Anne Schenk as a possible mother for Samuel Tanner from a source I don't recall. I then took the liberty to say this Anne is that Anne, therefore I would consider John Tanner as father of Samuel. I most certainly could be wrong.

I think your Jane Tanner is my great-grandaunt based on my calculations. I would like to communicate further with you on this connection.

If this makes any sense to you I await your response

Thank
Jim MacDonald

Charles, I have been able to look at some notes, not all. The
Tanners I have came from Rhode Island prob. around North Kingston area. Was
trying to find the email of a researcher I spoke with last year about
this family.
Will keep looking.
