Boarman Web Page 1 ________________ Sat, 09 Jan 1999 19:48:30 -0500 "candyw" <candyw@neo.rr.com> At the risk of sending too much, here is what I have on William Boarman Jr. in case some of you don't have this book: >From "Major William Boarman Charles County, Md" by M. L. Donnelly: "William Boarman (2), the eldest son of Major William Boarman (1) and Sarah Linle, was born in 1654. In a deposition made in 1714 he claimed to be 60 years of age (Chnacery Record PL:38). This same record pertaining to land called "Lanternum" names his father as William Boarman (1). William Boarman (2) is not mentioned as a son in his father's will. He is called "my true friend" in his father's codicil. This means Major William Boarman (1) had sufficiently provided for his children at the time of their marriage. William Boarman (2) is named as the eldest son and heir of Major William Boarman (1), deceased, in a deed (25:45) on 6/25/1713 in Charles County as trustee for his half-brother Francis Ignatius Boarman (13), the youngest child of Major William Boarman (1). The first marriage of William Boarman (2) was to Jane Neale, the youngest child of Captain James Neale and Anne Gill. William Boarman, his wife Jane Boarman, and their daughter Jane Boarman (14) were left legacy in the will of Jane's father, Captain James Neale in 1684 (will 4:40)." William Boarman Jr. and Robert Green were witnesses to the nuncupative will of their brother-in-law Thomas Matthews in 1676 (5:163). William Boarman was named as the overseer for the will of Thomas Mudd (7:265), his brother-in-law, in 1696. On 1/9/1697 Thomas Mudd his nephew chose William Boarman as his guardian (Chancery 28:157). William Boarman was one of the executors for the estate of Richard Hobart, the Franciscan priest in 1698 (Charles Co. will 6:181) Henrietta Maria Neale Lloyd, the sister of Jane Neale Boarman, named Jane and William Boarman as her 'sister and brother' in her will (7:272) in 1697. Sometime after 1697 and before 1701 Jane Neale Boarman died. William married secondly Mary Pile, daughter of Capt. Joseph Pile and Mary Turner. On 10/11/1701 William Boarman received one-fifth of the balance of the estate of Joseph Pile in right of his wife, Mary, a daughter of the deceased. Mary signed with William when he conveyed a number of tracts to Benedict Leonard Boarman on 11/3/1719. Willliam witnessed the codicil to his father's will on 1/17/1708. He also witnessed the will of Thomas Hagan/Hagoe of Charles County, who mentions in his will acreage he bought from Major William Boarman and William Boarman (14:213). William Boarman wrote his will (16:67) on 4/5/1720 and it was probated in Charles County on 5/23/1720. There is much more than this in Mary Donnelly's book, if anyone wishes I will send them as much as I can type. She has done an excellent job of documenting all references to Major William Boarman and all of his descendants nearly to the present generation. I would also be happy to do lookups.
