Mon, 11 Jan 1999 09:45:44 -0500 "Thomas Hochuli" <s-thochuli@worldnet.att.net> Hmm. Well I got the two Pearsons books first. They are a good starting and overview type place. However there are errors here and there. The information comes basically from the church records, but also from some other stuff from the period.I got the Albany church book from Genealogical Publishing Company in Baltimore, Md. They have probably the finest collection of genealogical books of anyone. They certainly have seen most of my spare cash for years. I am very fond of published records. It at least gives you a fair shot and sponsors, etc. Sponsors for the early settlers does help. My paternal line is only from Albany-Schenectady until my grandfather, so I have an enormous library of that area, not much else however. It was originally published in 1870, but reprinted by several genealogy book vendors (Higginson, Hope Farm, Genealogical Pub. Co., etc. should have it). There are also 5 McChesneys on p. 77.
