Julian Clarke. which means she was already married to Thomas Clarke by the time Thomas Mudd made his will. Julian Mudd married Thomas Clarke born 25 Dec 1654 son of Robert Clarke the surveyor General of Lord Baltimore and wife Winifred(Seyborne) Widow of Governor Thomas Greene. Thomas Clarke was married 1st to Ann Barber daughter of Luke Barber and Elizabeth Young. Ann Barber Clarke died about 1693/94 and it wasn't until about then that Thomas Clarke remarried 2nd to Julian Mudd. Julian Mudd was born about 1674-1678 almost a twenty year difference in her age and her 1st husband Thomas Clarke's age. She remarried 2nd to Mathew Guibert, and she was still living in 1725. See Maryland Calendar of Wills: Volume 2 . page 121, Mudd, Thomas, Chas. Co., 12th Oct., 1696;11th Mch., 1696-7. Remember that: Thomas Mudd, b. 1647 and d. 10/12/1696-97 married first, Julianna Gardiner in 1672; second, Sarah Boarman 8/1/1678 and third Ann Matthews, dau. of Dr. Thomas Matthews and Jane Cockshutt. If Julian Mudd was a daughter of Thomas Mudd and 2nd wife Sarah Boarman which he could not have married prior to 1678 because of the fact her prior husband Thomas Mathews died about then. and if we say that Julian Mudd was born after 1678 we place even a larger gap between her and her 1st husband Thomas Clarke. Where also can you place her date of birth. The other children we have more proof as to their approximate dates of birth leaving no gap free.after 1678. Remember also that if she was married by 1695 even at a very young age of 15 would give her the approximate date of birth of about 1680. The problem is her brother Thomas Mudd Jr. states in a deposition he was born about 1680/81. Which means we have to place her before the date that Thomas Mudd married Sarah Boarman. My source is Linda Reno, but I agree with her because to make Julian Mudd the daughter of 2nd wife doesn't make sence, because of the age difference. I wish I had more absolute proof but I haven't. You sometimes have to be logical in figuring out things. Mary Donnelly claims alot of things that can't be possible, so I don't rely on what she claims. With my Clarke line in her new book she has more errors than fact. I can't even recognize my own liniage from her book- the new one. I still have many things to adjust and correct before my web page is correct also, but I posted it as I currently understand it. As I find more records I will have to correct my errors. Jerry L.
