18 Apr. 1694: RICHARD GARDINER of Calvert Co., MD wrote his will on 15 Jan 1693 and probated on 18 Apr. 1694. RICHARD left to WILLIAM WICKAM and THOMAS STONE and their heirs 230 acres (unnamed). RICHARD also left to his sister, viz: JONE BENETT and MARY GARDNER, who was living at WILLIAM SCOTT'S in Oxfordshire, England; to goddaughters, ELIZABETH HALL and CIBBY JOWLES and to JAMES CROOK and to THOMAS GOSLING, he left personalty. RICHARD left to his wife, MARGERY, the executor and heirs, the residue of his estate, real and personal, including 300 acres 'The Parthing Path', 80 acres 'The Garding Spot', and 100 acres 'Hopewell' in St. Mary's Co., MD. The witnesses were CHARLES ASHCOM, JAMES KEETH, LUKE GARDNER, & CHARLES CARLES.
